Timothy J. Plaisier

Tim was raised in Spring Lake, Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School. He attended Ferris State University, graduating with an Associate's degree in architecture and a Bachelor's degree in facilities management. After working in the truss design and engineered lumber industry for sixteen years, he felt called to take a new career path in funeral service. Tim worked for Sytsema Funeral Homes in Muskegon, Michigan. During this time he attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois and in August of 2013, purchased Pederson Funeral Home. He has been married to his wonderful wife Tonya for over twenty-four years, and with her, they are raising their three boys, William, Andrew and Daniel.

David L. Germain

David grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. He attended Xavier University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. David is also a veteran of service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He formerly owned the Germain Funeral Home in Howard City, Michigan, where he currently resides. David has been a licensed funeral director for more than fifty years and has been with Pederson Funeral Home for over fifteen years. David has two grown children, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren of whom he is immensely proud. Also, two adopted cats Liam and Lancelot who happen to be brothers.

Brandon M. Poortenga

Brandon was born and raised in Colon, Michigan. He has graduated and earned degrees from both Ferris State University and Worsham College of Mortuary Science. While attending Mortuary College, Brandon worked as a student associate for Cumberland Chapels in Norridge, Illinois. Brandon started his apprenticeship at Pederson Funeral Home in April of 2016 and became a licensed funeral director in the spring of 2017. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending time outdoors with his girlfriend and their adopted greyhound.

Charles M. McKinley

Charlie was raised in Grant, the fifth generation of the McKinley Funeral Homes. He has earned degrees from both Southern Illinois University and Grand Valley State University.  Charlie started his apprenticeship at McKinley Funeral Home in June of 1991 and became a licensed funeral director in the fall of 1993.

Charlie has a son Alex and a daughter Alysha. Outside of work, Charlie enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, his horses and the family dogs.

Tim is a graduate of Calvin College and also earned a Mortuary Science Degree from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, Georgia. He has been a licensed funeral director in West Michigan since 1994.  He and his wife Amy have been married for 25 years and have two sons and a daughter.
Tim has recently added "Preplanning Counselor" to his duties at the funeral home.

Hi I am the Office Manager for Pederson Funeral Home. I have worked for Tim Plaisier for 4 years. Before Pederson Funeral Home I worked 29 years for Fifth Third Bank FKA Old Kent Bank in various positions. I have been married for almost 31 years to the love of my life, Karl. And, we live in Sparta, MI. We have one grown son, who is married to a lovely ginger girl. We are also adoptive parents to a furry guy we call Pete Pete.

Dan Pountney

Dan was born in London, England and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He spent several years at Michigan Tech University in the Upper Peninsula and then 28 years working for Steelcase. Dan loves spending time on the green and in the off-season, traveling to warmer climates with his wife Teresa. Dan has two step-children, Stephanie and Todd, and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Haley, and Taylor. He is also a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Sparta.

John was raised in Hammond, Indiana.  He attended Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College and graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in pastoral studies.  He has served five churches as pastor over 44 years.  He and his wife Ruth have been married 54 years and have three grown sons and nine grandchildren.  John has been working for Fields-McKinley Funeral Homes for the past five years.

Ruth was raised in Quincy, Illinois.  She attended Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College.  She is married to her college sweetheart, John and has three grown sons and nine grandchildren.  Ruth has been a pastor’s wife for 44 years and for the past five years enjoys working for Fields-McKinley Funeral Homes.
